Your CV is the very first impression that will be given about you to a potential employer. It is important to use this opportunity to your best advantage.
- It might mean a bit of hard work, but it is important to adapt your CV to suit the position you are applying for or company you are applying to.
- Thorough research of the company and job will provide you with information about what points the employer is looking for so that you can match your best talents and emphasize these on your CV.
- Changing the formatting of your CV can make it easier to read. Ideal fonts are Arial or Times New Roman with a size between 11 - 12pt. Attention should be given to margin sizes, paper quality and writing style and this should reflect the company and position you are applying for.
- Keep your CV interesting using short sentences when providing information about your work experience and qualifications. The use of bullet points allows the recruiter to scan the contents without effort and immediately identify the key points.
- Emphasize clearly the value that you will bring to the job and the company.

Google makes headline news again this month. After acquiring Doubleclick last year, Google has now launched Ad Manager, a free ad serving solution that helps clients do everything from schedule to deliver and measure ad inventory . According to a study by Attributor, Google now controls the serving of 69% of all online ads.
Facebook seems to be an ever emerging giant as Hong Kong typhoon, Li Ka-Shing invests a further £30m into the social network, doubling his stake to 0.8%. Ka-Shing also has a stake in mobile network 3G and has suggested a synergy between the two companies. In the same month Facebook appoints yet another Google exec, as Ethan Beard, formerly Google's director of social media, joins the Facebook team.

The BBC has reported that 'millions of working years are being wasted because so many people are in the wrong job.'
